Meet
Matt Morton
President
Matt Morton became the fifth President of the Community Foundation in 2022, bringing more than two decades of leadership in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. Previously, Morton was the Equitable Education Portfolio Director at Meyer Memorial Trust, where he managed a team that steered the state’s largest private grantmaking strategy focused on K-12 public education.
Morton earned his Master of Education degree from Oregon State University and cultivated his deep passion for nonprofit work while volunteering as a board member. In 2005, he joined the National Indian Child Welfare Association, eventually becoming its Deputy Director before moving on to serve as Executive Director at the Native American Youth and Family Center.
Outside the office, Morton volunteers regularly to support the communities and causes he cares deeply about. He and his wife Courtaney are avid soccer fans because they love cheering on their son, Marcus. When they’re not at the pitch, you might catch them up skiing, enjoying live music or taking walks with their dog, Penny.
